We watched a Slate-colored Junco flying about near the summit of Mt. Washington. The Junco is one of the most common birds in North America so it's no surprise this 'snowbird' is here on the mountain where it's much cooler. We've seen Junco's before but never this color; it had a white belly with a dark gray head. My guess is it was chomping on bugs or maybe trail mix dropped by hikers.
