A lot of places we go we've seen dragonfly's hovering & zipping around and we never really payed any attention to them, but lately I've become more and more interested in learning about them. Once I did stop to take a good look, I discovered how brilliant their color and designs really are.
During our most recent hike on Mt. Monadnock I found what I believe to be a White Faced Darter. Google research places them in Europe and classifies them as rare and being re-introduced to their environment. I'm no expert but I did find forum posts and pics locating them in Maine.
